On site search
As each library is unique the requirements for on site search also require unique search presentation and corresponding database set ups.
For example, a quick search is usually key words or key phrases but advanced search depends on the parameters set up by the library. In addition to perhaps SD or HD a library may want to enable searches according to the type of shot - panning, close ups etc, or mono / colour.
All of this needs careful planning and meta tagging.
Additionally, some researchers prefer to start a wide search using categories. The category search module has dual use; it allows researchers to identify categories in a wide search and also helps with page ranking on Google and other search engines.
Site search is extremely important - get it right and you'll exceed your profit forecast. Do it wrong and you'll always be playing catchup.
