EIGHT SPORTS EMMY’S FOR HBO
ARCHIVES TO MAKE FOOTAGE AVAILABLE
NEW YORK, May 13, 2008 – HBO Sports scooped eight Sports Emmy Awards in April, beating all the other sports networks. Triple honors went to its boxing series “24/7,” two more for “Mayweather/Hatton 24/7” and one to “De La Hoya/Mayweather 24/7.” Two Emmys went to the documentary, “Brooklyn Dodgers: The Ghosts of Flatbush”. Finally venerable magazine show “RealSports with Bryant Gumbel,” won an Emmy for Outstanding Sports Journalism.
Footage from these award-winning productions, most originating in High Definition, is immediately available for licensing through HBO Archives.
New footage from HBO Sports is added daily. In addition, RealSports producers recently secured Barack Obama for an exclusive interview; footage from that shoot is now available for licensing.
Bernstein adds: “Sports is producing more of our programs with high-definition elements. We plan to make these images available, and eventually all HBO materials from all divisions, to outside productions.”
