Digital conversion, Video file conversion costs

Digital conversion is the first step of our end-to-end video encoding and clip editing services and special effects that enable you to take your existing video content and create stunning footage for the stock footage marketplace.
We convert the digital camera raw video tape or analog source files to enable future clip editing in digital video format.
We accept many digital and analog formats:

  • DV
  • Mini DV
  • Beta SP
  • VHS etc.

Our conversions provide the highest possible resolution, bitrate, frames per second etc as uncompressed video. From uncompressed video we then output various video encoding formats depending on the platform required. For example:

  • QuickTime (.mov) high definition video (920x1080, 25 frame per second, progressive) giving 1 second of video @ 35 Mb
  • Windows (.avi) giving 1 second of video @ 120-130 Mb per second.

During the conversion process we can correct source tape defects caused by time or physical damage, lens distortion and colour correction etc.

Costs
Digital conversion costs start from around ?15 per hour; we have large capacity and can usually start a project within a few days; click here for more information and ask about our term contracts.
